We caught up with Collette and asked her a few questions about her stoneware jewelry line, and her experiences so far working with TAG. Here's what she said:
Tell us a little bit about your shoppe.
I never imagined myself as a jewelry designer. The kit my husband gave me as a Christmas gift in 2007 sat in a closet for almost two years before I even tried my hand at it. So in the summer afternoon in 2009 I pulled the kit off the closet shelf. Within a short time, I was hooked. After my husband offered to make me some custom stoneware beads and focals, the idea behind Firefly Myst Artisan Jewelry came to life. Shortly after establishing my Etsy shop in 2010, I added my jewelry supplies to my shop.
Tell us a little bit about your shoppe.
What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why?
Firefly Myst Artisan Jewelry Etsy shop has a collection of handcrafted bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, as well as jewelry supplies for designers. My favorite piece is the sun/moon face bracelet.
When you're not handcrafting your designer line of raku and stoneware jewelry, what are your hobbies?
When I am not designing products for my shop, I spend time working out at the gym, traveling, and hanging out at the pool. During the school year, I spend my days with twenty great fifth-grade students. I sell my work locally in stores and art studios. During the summer I do art shows near the shores of Lake Huron. One of my raku designs won third place, and was featured in the issue of Stringing Magazine, Summer 2009.

We caught up with Sherry and asked her a few questions about her elegant handcrafted jewelry, and her experiences so far working with TAG. Here's what she said:
Tell us a little bit about your shoppe.
My shop is family owned and operated. I create everything from my studio/office in my home. We offer handcrafted wire-wrap, framing and sculpted jewelry with a Victorian flair created with precious metal (sterling silver - 925) and (gold-filled wire - 14/20), gemstones of the highest quality (precious and semi-precious) with a few synthetic or glass stones. We take custom orders, cleaning requests and now we offer classes for those who would like to make their own jewelry.
Tell us a little bit about your shoppe.
What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why?
This is a hard question for me. I love them all. Each one has it's own character and individuality. If I had to pick I'd have to say the Nephrite Jade Earrings in Gold with crystal accents. They are very elegant, unique and the aurora borealis crystals reflect some awesome color. They flow freely yet the green jade is a healing color and also my favorite. Nephrite jade is good for emotional balance and stability. Along with lots more great qualities this stone has to offer.
I love spending time with my daughter, hiking, looking for gemstones, lapidary work, decorating my home, watching my kittens play, roller blading and spending time at the beach with my dog Kira to name a few.
What do you like best about The Artisan Group?
The people. They are the most wonderful group to be a part of of. Any time I have a question there's always someone that can help. I love the fact that we're all at different levels of experience and are willing to share with one another. On days that aren't so good, I just go to our group and it always cheers me up. Every one of our members are a delight to be in contact with and I love promoting one another's shops. Everyday is a good day with The Artisan Group.

We caught up with Sandra and asked her a few questions about her stunning custom jewelry line, and her experiences so far working with TAG. Here's what she said:
Tell us a little bit about your shoppe.
As a young girl, I always made jewelry for myself. I would go through all of my mother's old broken jewelry and make new pieces.
It wasn't until I was in my twenties though that I really started designing my own jewelry. I had a wedding to go to and I had the perfect outfit to wear, but I couldn't find the right jewelry to wear. Finally an idea popped into my head and I started making a couple pieces of jewelry that was went perfectly with my outfit. By the end of the night I had received many compliments and even sold the pieces.
From that time on, I began making jewelry for family and friends. I even started selling some of my pieces in a local boutique. But back then, I never really took what I was doing all the seriously. My main focus was raising my four sons.
When my children were older, I ended up going through a scare with cancer. I realized how short and precious life was. I decided then that I was going to make my life count and live my dream. I was going to do what I loved, and whatever I needed to to make that possible. That is how SilverSchells was born in 2009.
What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why?
My favorite pieces is the Mother's Jewelry Hand Stamped Genuine Leather Bracelet I made for Alison Sweeney from Days Of Our Lives. This was the first time I ever hand-stamped a piece. I also like this bracelet because I think the leather and swarovski crystals give this piece a very elegant and fashionable look, but at the same time is personalized.
When you're not handcrafting such unique and elegant pieces for your jewelry collection, what are your hobbies?

When I'm not designing jewelry, I like to travel and visit my children (and their families). I also enjoy spending time checking out antique and thrift stores so I can look for old jewelry or other unique items that I will later make jewelry out of. And I always enjoying going out to the lake or river and fishing with my husband.
What do you like best about The Artisan Group?
Hands down, I have to say the wealth of knowledge that this group has. Along with that, Valerie's amazing management and business skills have made The Artisan Group a major success and drives us to be the best one can be. It has had a major impact on me as well as my business. I am honored and fortunate to be associated with such a supportive and inspiring group of talented artists.

We caught up with Penny and asked her a few questions about her incredibly intricate
chainmaille jewelry, and her experiences so far working with TAG. Here's what she said:
Tell us a little bit about your shoppe.
I started making jewelry by chance. My first intention was only to fix the jewelry my daughters purchased from those mall outlet stores where you can buy ten earrings for $5.00. After fixing a few earrings, necklaces and bracelets, I started to put my own spin on them, adding extra charms or beads here or there, or deconstructing it entirely to make something new. I found it rather fun and relaxing so I started taking apart any jewelry items I can find and remade them into something different.
After a few months of making jewelry, fixing jewelry, and giving whatever I made away to family and friends, I had a thought that I should be selling them instead and make a little bit of money to finance my new hobby, so in early 2009, I bought a domain, Saniki Creations, and opened up an online store to sell the excess inventory I had. Back then my creations were mainly beaded items made with crystals, semi-precious stones and a few wire-wrapped creations.
In 2010, while perusing images on the computer to get some inspiration, I stumbled upon an image of a chainmaille bracelet and thought to myself, "this is what I want to learn". Within six months I taught myself most of the standard chainmaille weaves and commenced changing my store to specialize exclusively in this technique of connecting hundreds of little rings together to form jewelry pieces.
What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why?
I love everything I make, or I wouldn't sell them, but my favorite creation thus far is not a jewelry piece at all, though I do have pendant versions of it. My Chainmaille Framed Tree of Life Wall Decor, Cybele-Diana, is my pride and joy. This is my original concept to merge two of Earth's resources, metal and stones, and two techniques - one I'm good at (chainmailling), and one I'm not so good at (wire-wrapping), together as an honour to nature and the circle of life it gives us.

When you're not handcrafting such gorgeous chainmaille jewelry pieces, what are your hobbies?
Being a full-time mom of three and running my home business doesn't really give me a chance to have other hobbies. Designing is my hobby and I see potential products for my store everywhere I go. When I do have free time, I spend it with my family and do typical family things like picnics in the park, playing board games, pile everyone into the car and go the the video store for a movie then to the grocery store to get a bunch of junk food, and my favorite... Karaoke.
What do you like best about The Artisan Group?
Joining The Artisan Group has been one of the best business decisions I have made. Being surrounded by supportive like-minded artists and professionals had enabled me to move my business forward, to set goals for myself as an artist and a businesswoman I wouldn't have set before.

What do you like best about The Artisan Group?
I have learned so much in the year I have been a member and the opportunities that The Artisan Group has given me and to the group as a whole I will be forever grateful for. The past year I had the honour of gifting celebrities (Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Ryan Gosling, Nicole Richie, Vanessa Lachey and Mariska Hargitay) plus had my creations inside swag bags and displayed at the 2012 GBK MTV Movie Awards Gift Lounge and in September to gift the Press and Media at the 2012 GBK Primetime Emmys Gift Lounge. Opportunities like this I would not have done without TAG.
